CRS Communal Clash; Government needs to do more in restoring absolute Peace – Dan Obo Jnr

The NYCN-CRS Chairman, comrade Dan Obo Jnr frowns seriously at the State Government for handling the communal clash between NKO and ONYADAMA with kid gloves

Comrade Dan Obo Jnr made this known to Blu Eeagle Meedia in a telephone conversation that the ugly incident is giving the state a bad name given that commuters are often blocked because of the road blockade as a result of the incessant fights even at the federal highway

According to Comrade Dan It’s disturbing that there’s steady war between NKO and ONYADAMA without the government taking decisive measures in ensuring absolute peace returns to the waring communities

Continuing, the state chairman (Dan Obo Jnr) made known efforts of the former minister of Niger Delta, Pastor Usani Usani in bringing the Civil Defence training center to the region and several other committees that were setup by former Governor Liyel Imoke to curb the menace yet there’s no implementation in that regard while calling on the Deputy Governor, Prof Ivara Ejemot Esu to take decisive measures that will bring absolute peace among the waring communities given that he is in charge of boundaries dispute

While appealing to the Young people to seize fire, Lower their weapons and stop killing themselves unecessarily over lands dispute, Comrade Dan calls on the government to take over the land in dispute and build a security post there to save lives likewise ensures normalcy returns to the area

My challenge now is why our leaders are not interested in what is happening, those LGAs have state and federal law makers, LGA Chairmen ETC And in as much as we condemn in totality the killings, we expect that government lives up to responsibility of protecting lives and properties of the citizens said Comrade Dan Obo Jnr

I feel the time for government to act is now, we are not happy, we are sad, it doesn’t make sense that Cross River State is being seen in this light and it’s gradually becoming a National mess, we charge the state government as a matter of urgency to intervene and arrest the ugly situation that will bring lasting peace in the LGAs

May God heal our lands, restore all the we have lost and give strength to the people that lost their Loved ones and properties in the process he (Dan Obo) stated
